MMIR offers more printable form options

MMIR users requested the capability to print their reports so as to match established government-provided forms.

Now, Full Access users have the option to print pre-completed forms in three formats: Service Difficulty Report (SDR) form (FAA Form 8070-1); Malfunction or Defect ("M or D") Report (FAA Form 8010-4); and the traditional MMIR format, which has been used for years to submit warranty claims to manufacturers and SDRs to the FAA. Any or all options are available, depending on the user's need. MMIR will continue to electronically transmit all MMIR reports designated as SDRs directly to the FAA's SDR database in Oklahoma City, to comply with mandatory operator reporting requirements. Now MMIR users have the option to print out their reports and submit copies directly to their Flight Standards District Office (FSDO) in whatever format the local FSDO prefers including the standard government form they are accustom to. HAI recommends this practice to ensure that the local FSDO receives their copy of the SDR.
